Why I’m volunteering at WordCamp SLC

I wasn’t able to apply to speak at WordCamp this year, so I did the next best thing – I signed up to be a volunteer. “Why should I care?”, I hear you asking yourself. WordCamp comes but once a year, and provides an opportunity for the local community to gather for a low cost, high value conference that showcases the best of Utah as well as heavy hitters in the larger WordPress ecosystem.

The more I put in to the WordPress community, the more I get out of it – and I reckon that will ring true for you as well. Whether you’re a beginner looking to get started with your first WordPress site, a seasoned developer building large sites, or a digital marketer seeking content strategy advice, you’ll find your tribe at WordCamp SLC. Heck, even if none of that’s interesting to you – there’s barbeque. 🙂

I look forward to seeing you all at WordCamp SLC!

Call for volunteers!

We’ve got an amazing organizing team for WCSLC. But do you know what it’s missing? YOU!

Speaking from personal experience, volunteering at a WordCamp can be an incredibly fun and exciting experience. You get to meet a lot of really cool people from all parts of the WordPress community and it’s a great, easy way to give back to this community and this project that we know and love. The best part? Volunteers get in free.

We’re always looking for people to help out in various ways; from room monitors, to equipment jockeys or food runners, helpers on the day of the event, to more visible things like design and logo wranglers to help us make the website reflect our unique community here in the greater Salt Lake Valley. Let us know who you are and what you’d like to do and we’ll be in touch!
